Eric Petersen

Eric Petersen was born and raised in the Edmonton, Alberta area. He is married to a kind and supporting wife and is blessed with two young children. His family is his fuel to succeed in all of life's challenges.

Growing up on a small farm and working for the family construction business taught him how to work hard and work smart. In his teens he started working for the family business from the bottom up. In 1996 when Eric was 21, he dedicated 2 years to serve a full-time Christian volunteer mission. He attributes much of his life's success to the simple principles he learned and taught while working to help his his neighbours.

After his return in 1998, he began preparations to start his own franchise chain of Canadian based juice bars. Realizing the challenges for a young and eager businessman to obtain capital without giving up equity, he set his plans for his franchise aside in 1999 and began building his own capital reserves by privately purchasing and managing Alberta based real-estate.

Over the Spring and Summer of 2000, Eric met his wife Angela. With their first child born 2 years later and a second 3 years after that, their family and the most important part of Eric's life, had begun.

Balancing his family life, real-estate ventures and duties in the family construction business, he gradually gained the trust and experience that allowed him to have the opportunity to buy out his Father's two partners in 2003.

In the fall of 2006, Eric and his father decided it was time to exit from the Alberta construction industry and structured a sale of their operation. After a brief transition period with the new owner in the spring of 2007, Eric took a much needed break to spend time with his family while exploring where his future would take him.

Eric's love of creative finance, tax strategy and breaking the mold of traditional business thought drew him to investigate many different career options. Rob Frost, the principal of Proforma Capital, approached Eric in the spring of 2007 with the idea of joining with their affiliate Total Financial Solutions Inc. It didn't take long for Eric to see the perfect match this opportunity presented. He loved sharing his creativity and the strategies he had discovered over the course of his life and now has the opportunity to learn more from the best and share these ideas and strategies on a full time basis. Best of all, this opportunity allowed him to spend more time with his family.

Since making this decision, Eric has been licenced to do business in the province of Alberta and is held to the high standards of a fiduciary. He is currently working to obtain his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Designation to further his education and develop his creativity.

Eric also spends much of his spare time mentoring youth and adult leaders in the community with Scouts Canada. He enjoys the outdoors and finds much of his relaxation while mountaineering in Canada's majestic Rocky Mountains.

Gary Petersen

Gary has been a small business owner managing a number of business entities for more than 40 years. In 2007 Gary sold his long time family business and has chosen to function as an advisor to other small business owners who can benefit from the resources, experience and networks that he has brought together over the years.

The center point of his small business solutions is a process implemented by NR Contracting to reengage existing employees as independant contractors. This process which vastly improves the situation of key employees as well as increasing the employer's profitability has a positive cost impact and fits well with a number of other solutions he has to offer.

There are a number of other programs which can greatly decrease the stress level of many small business owners. If you have an issue that you are struggling with and just want to run it by someone who has stood in your shoes, give Gary a call and he can assist you in finding a solution that will fit.
